Srinagar, June 29 (KNS): Former Chief Justice, Bashir Ahmed Khan today expressed grief over the demise of of senior advocate B S Salathia.
In a Statement, he said " I am grieved on sudden-passing away of Senior Advocate B.S.Salathia.I cannot reconcile to the fact that he is no more.He was a pillar of strength to me, a friend,a fan & a guide during my stint at the High Court. He always maintained a contact with even when I was in a different High Court.I would get his “Good morning bouquets “ on daily or weekly basis. He would pester me for contributing to modernisation of High Court & would guide me to maintain high standards of probity & fairness in my functioning.
Salathia sb was a noble soul & a great human being. One would see him with his dedicated band of associates attending all events of joy & sorrow. & where ever."
"I have many fond memories of him which I will cherish for long. Alas, he will be no more around to encourage & guide me any more. What saddens me more is that he left so suddenly & so soon at a difficult time leaving his colleagues, friends & well wishers crest fallen. His contribution for infrastructure building & lawyers welfare will be long remembered. I recall how he chased me & obtained several orders for development of High court infrastructure & welfare of lawyer community like judicial Academy & lawyers chambers etc."
He suggested Lawyers Chambers should be named after him. (KNS)
