JKWRRA holds capacity building on floods mitigation for engineers

Jammu,Nov 30 (KNS); Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources Regulatory Authority held a capacity building program on flood mitigation for engineers of the UT.

JKWRRA Chairperson Ghanshyam Jha threw light on the subject on the basis of his vast experience being former chairman of Central Water Commission (CWC).

The AEE of JK Water Resources Regulatory Authority (JKWRRA) Er Muzamil Ahmad Rafiqi delivered a brief welcome address.

The Director CWC Sunil Kumar enlightened the engineers with regard to various relevant models for flood mitigation and management.

The important issue of flood forecasting, mathematical modelling, G&D stations under National hydrology project, general capacity building of engineers were the part of the insightful lecture presented by the Director CWC.

All the engineers who participated appreciated the speaker for delivering such an informative and visionary lecture of nearly two hours.

Besides, the Assistant Engineer JKWRRA Er Mohammad Akeeb Dar, all the five Chief Engineers of water resource sector J&K participated in the online meeting.

During the discussion hour the Chief Engineer I&FC Kashmir Er Iftikhaar Ahmad Kakroo raised some core technical issues followed by the brief forethought of Er Mutayib Bashir, technical officer I&FC Kashmir which was appreciated by the speaker.

The AEE JKWRRA presented vote of thanks and chairperson Ghansyham Jha assured the audience that more research and development programmes shall be arranged by JKWRRA for flood management.(KNS)
