JKTF nominates Rafiq Rather as chairman

Baramulla, June 14 (KNS): Revamping of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum an urgent need to restore the last glory of the organization. Senior Trade Union Leader Mohd Rafique Rather nominated as Chairman Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum

In an extra ordinary move Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum the biggest and oldest Organization of the teachers of Jammu & Kashmir today witnessed a biggest ever change by nominating Senior Trade Union Leader Mohd Rafique Rather as its Chairman.

According to statement issued to KNS reads, while addressing a well attended Press Conference which was addressed by founder members of JKTF Mohd Rafique Rather, Mohd Ashraf Mir, Mohd Amin Khan, Peer Nisar Ahmad andscores of other leaders of the Organization.

Rather while addressing the Press Conference said that he along with other founder members of the organization were not taken on board In respect of decision making of the organization from last one year consequently the structure of the organization got completely collapsed and there was no liaison and coordination between central, provincial , district & zonal bodies. The teachers of the erstwhile state of J&K who had pinned their hopes in the organization were completely ignored.

Moreover the existing and enforcing constitution of teachers forum is misinterpreted and
ignored while as the caretaker system is being introduced throughout the UT of J&K which has
weekend routes of the organization. He also said, we are not against any group or organization butwe want that the demands of the teachers and students should be addressed in a Joint platform so
that the teachers and students will not suffer further more. At the same time the democracy which isthe core of basic structure of organization will be restored from zonal to top most level of theorganization and the constitution will not be allowed to be used and misused to provide protection to the rejected lot.

Rather appealed teaching community to come under single umbrella so that the issues confronting them are taken with the officers at helm of affairs are being early redressed. He also
said that every teacher has nourished this organization with sweat and blood but their unflinching support should not be taken for granted. Appealing all senior and basic leaders of the organization to join hands to protect the sacred organization which is the custodian of the rights of the teaching community in general and students of Govt. Schools in particular
