Jammu, July 30, 2020: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress has strongly condemned the police action against the Former Union Minister and Veteran Congress Leader and former President of JKPCC Prof. Saifuddin Soz today, when he tried to come out of his residence, following the disclosure of the Govt. before Supreme Court, that there are no restrictions on his movement..

Reacting to the episode in which Prof. Soz was forcibly pulled back and not allowed to come out of the gate, in the presence of some media persons waiting outside, the video of which is viral on social media, JKPCC Chief Shri G.A. Mir and other senior leaders have said this is most unfortunate that this kind of treatment was meted out to a veteran politician Prof. Soz, when only day before yesterday the Government revealed before the Apex Court that there are no restrictions on his movement. Today’s episode has falsified the claims of the Government for which the Hon,ble Court is the only hope.

He said time and again it was raised by the party on various occasions in the past that Prof. Soz is under house arrest but there was no response from Govt. However before the Hon’ble court the Govt. denied any restrictions on him but today again he was not allowed to come out of his residence and prevented forcibly in such a manner, which totally exposed the falsehood of the Government.

The entire rank and file of the party strongly condemns the incident and termed it very serious matter in view of the Government stand before apex court, which is totally illegal and undemocratic and proves false claims of the Government.(KNS)
