Srinagar December  01 (KNS):  Notwithstanding the immense trouble caused to the pensioners of Jammu and Kashmir by not releasing their dues on stipulated date this month, Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has expressed serious concern over the issue.

In a statement issued here Abdul Qayoom Wani JKCSF Chairman said that pensioners of JK are supposed to draw their pensions dues on every 28th of the month but this time the dues stand unreleased  till now which has irked and troubled the pensioners in general.

" Pensioners out of age factor happen to visit banks on the scheduled dates to draw their dues but today when they found the pension unreleased, it not only caused psychological discomfort to all those who hoped to draw the pension but added to the sufferings of those pensioners who are patients, living on life saving drugs, or who need pocket money in time as most of them  rely on pension only and have been rendered helpless by their wards in this era of economic crisis and nuclear family concept. What use of this pension  money if such pensioners do not get a peny for purchasing a life support medicine" Wani questioned.

JKCSF took a dig on the govts tall claims of hearing and addressing public grievances and decried  the claim. Chairman Wani criticised the DG Treasuries for not even responding to this grievance of pensioners over phone. Wani alleged that DG Treasuries did not care even to receive the phone.

JKCSF has asked the LG Administration to take stock of situation that if officers were public servants to address grievances or the baboos to enjoy king kind  life and not to bother about the grievances of the public.

JKCSF has urged the LG Administration to solve the issues of pensioners prior to the stage that these senior citizens are forced to come on roads and raise their voice for their rights. (KNS)
