GMC Rajouri neglected, faces huge shortage of manpower with no permanent Supdt besides 21 vacancies of  doctors, 11 specialist, 40 Nursing staff  and class IV posts

Jammu, May 15 (KNS): Alleging neglect of the only GMC hospital in twin border districts at Rajouri,  JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma besides Former Health Minister and vice-chairman DDC Shabir Ahmad Khan and Former legislator and AICC coordinator Vichar Vibhag Ashok Sharma have demanded that the central expert's team visiting Jammu on Sunday, should visit to GMC hospital Rajouri besides DH Poonch take stock of the health facilities in the backward region up to CHCs/PHCs.
In a letter to LG Manoj Sinha they said that there is a dire need to fill large vacancies and shortcomings of manpower besides scaling up facility and remove the shortage of logistics in GMC Rajouri, to cater to the needs of two border districts.

According to a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS)They expressed grave concern over  21 posts of doctors(medical officers), 11 posts of specialists and around 40 posts of paramedics and class IV including nurses, technicians, pharmacist, nursing orderlies and safaiwalas lying vacant beside shortage of anaesthesia staff urgently required in the situation. It's unfortunate Th there is no permanent and duly qualified superintendent. This shows the neglect of the important institution, a gift of the UPA Government to the twin border districts.

Since the GMC Jammu and other associated hospitals have been made almost out of bond for the covid patients of outside districts by the authorities in view of huge load, the GMC Rajouri has to be further equipped to cater to the needs of two districts of Rajouri and Poonch.

GMC Rajouri was sanctioned 3000 LPM oxygen plant, last year but only 1000lpm plant has been installed, which is inadequate to cater to the requirements of available 40 ventilators and the rising number of serious patients requiring ventilator supported beds. Thus oxygen plant needs to be augmented in the hospital besides anaesthesia manpower to satisfactorily run the round the clock emergency services, in this situation.

They said that the proposal to fully utilize the 100 bedded old hospital in Rajouri city, as dedicated Covid hospital, is getting dust, since last year
There is a need to install a manifold oxygen plant, which too can be installed on an emergency basis, with limited expenditure to provide oxygen services to less serious patients in this hospital.
There is a need to review the facilities in DH Poonch and other important hospitals in the district to upgrade the Covid facilities.

As sunderbani and adjoining areas are hot spots in the province,  the CHC sunderbani / Nowshera need to be strengthened to deal with the situation, they said adding it has been told by experts that another manifold oxygen plant can be installed in CHC sunderbani, in a short time, with limited expenditure, as around 100 cylinders are available in CHC, which can be connected to the said plant to accommodate patients of adjoining areas.
Similarly, the facilities at  CHC Kalakote, Nowshera, koteranka, Thannamandi, Darhal, Manjakote, Budhal and Treyath need to be reviewed and upgraded on an urgent basis to cope up with the situation.

They appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha to Direct the central team to visit Rajouri /Poonch districts also to suggest urgent measures for upgrading the facilities to deal with the Covid situation in twin border and backward districts.(KNS)
