JCC holds protest at district level demands pending wages, regularization of casual labourers, daily wagers

Srinagar, July 02 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir employees Joint Action Committee (G) on Thursday held one hour peaceful protest at District levels in favour of all the catagaries of temporary workers engaged after 1994 up to 2015 in different departments and contractual/consolidated/accadamic vocational instructors of skill development,ITI & polytechnic sectors for their early regularization and enhancement of their wages.

According to statement issued to KNS said, While highlighting the genuine long pending demands of these skilled,semi skilled and un-skilled temporary workers Senior JCC leader and General Secretary JK-EJAC Syed GH Rasool Geelani urged upon the central and UT Govt. to regularize the service of all the temporary workers who are working in different departments tirelessly since 20-25years and are waiting anxiously for regularization and enhancement of wages in these tough times.

Geelani appealed honourable Lt. governor, chief secretary and honourable advisors to intervene personally in this matter for early settlement of the issue of regularization of all the categories of temporary workers including contractual, consolidates,adhocies and academic vocational instructors of skill development and enhancement of their wages as per minimum wages Act.

He also appealed UT Govt.to immediately ammend discriminatory SRO520 especially in the issue of 12 vouchers, unpaid category and retirement benefits so that these temporary workers will feel a sigh of relief as they are living a miserable life in these tough times. JK-EJAC(G) leadership including S G R Geelani, A A Bandroo, Molvi Nazir and Rajendra Kumar warned UT Govt. that in case of failure, JK-EJAC will be left with no alternative except to choose the path of agitation for which UT Govt. will be held responsible.
