J&K Students Association urges LG Sinha, VC (KU) to reopen Allama Iqbal Library

Srinagar, Jan 29 (KNS): J&K Students Association on Friday urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Kashmir University Vice Chancellor Professor Talat Ahmad to reopen Kashmir University's Allama Iqbal Library.
In a Statement Additional Spokesperson of Association Younus Rashid said that the continuous closure of Allama Iqbal library at Kashmir University is adding to the miseries of students. The students studying there are being left on God’s mercy.
He said in August 2019, library was closed soon after government ordered closure of all educational institutions across the valley followed by the abrogation of Article 370, since then 17 months have passed but Government failed to reopen it, leaving students especially scholars at lurch.
“Since past 17 Months, students are not being allowed to enter library and not given access to take study material, how will they study amid high-speed internet gag”, he added.
The association said that the university administration even after tones of requests paid no heed to prevailing miserable conditions of students. Not only did they leave hapless kids sans their Tiffin services nevertheless they also took that heating facility from otherwise poor kids. In this process the only all time open studying facility of valley happens to be in complete curfew, statement said.
The association urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Vice Chancellor Professor Talat Ahmad to look into the matter at an earliest and reopen the closed library for student’s educational pursuit. (KNS)
