Chaya seeks electricity charge waiver, aggressive marketing campaign 

Srinagar, Oct 2: (KNS) Jammu and Kashmir Hoteliers Club held an interactive meet with Secretary Tourism Sarmad Hafeez and Director Tourism Kashmir Nisar A Wani here at Hotel Radisson, Srinagar. Deputy Secretary Tourism Waseem Raja also attended the meet.
At the outset, Chairman J&K Hoteliers Club Mushtaq Chaya welcomed Secretary Tourism and also apprised him about the issues Hoteliers are facing and also suggested to him various ways for the promotion of the tourism sector.
Sarmad gave patient hearing to the issues raised by the members on the operation of the hotels. 
Chaya demanded complete waiver of electricity charges, GST reimbursement and interest free cash assistance to hoteliers.
On the occasion, Gulmarg Chapter demanded facelifting of the Gulmarg resort. Farooq Hafiz who heads the Sonmarg Chapter of the J&KHC sought that blacktopping of the road may be taken up and also renewal of the hotel registration. The hoteliers from Pahalgam urged secretary tourism that they may be given permission for undertaking of the repairs of the hotels.
On the occasion, Tariq Ghani, Secretary General of the Hoteliers Club urged the secretary tourism that Kashmir may be advertised as the best destination of the country as hotels have put all COVID SoPs in place to welcome the travellers.
All office bearers of the J&K Hoteliers Club  were present in the meeting.
Secretary Tourism assured the hoteliers club that a nation wide promotional campaign will be started soon to attract tourists to the JK. He said the department is organising winter festivals at Pahalgam and Gulmarg.
Mushtaq Chaya thanked the Secretary Tourism for sparing the time and assuring them of his full support in smooth functioning of the hotels and for the promotion of the trade.(KNS)
