Dr Itoo Listens various Public Grievances, Demands; Distributes Domicile, Income Certificates among Students

Baramulla, September 24(KNS): As part of ongoing “Jan Abhiyan” campaign, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today holds a day long Jan Sunwai (public darbar) at Tilgam village of Pattan area which witnessed the overwhelming participation of different stakeholders which include BDC chairpersons, PRIs among other citizens from Palhallan, Dargam, Khargam, Chanderseer, Sariwarpora, Hyderbeigh and other adjoining areas.

On the occasion, the concerned stakeholders highlighted various grievances and demands meant for the overall welfare of the area. The demands which were raised at the event includes establishment of PHC at Tilgam, upgradation of infrastructure in PHE, PDD, health and education sectors, dredging of irrigation canals in Chanderseer, construction of bridge at Dargam, macadimization of roads in Sariwarpora, JK Bank branch and ATM at Tilgam, development of sports infras, establishment of seasonal agricultural/horticultural store in the area and other demands. The people also expressed their gratitude of the district administration for conducting the reach out programme in the area.

The DC gave a patient hearing of all the demands and grievances and assured that all their issues shall be taken with the concerned authorities. He also issued on spot directions to some officers to redress some of these grievances in a time bound manner. DC also highlighted the objectives of Jan Abhiyan and said that the initiative aims at improving the public service delivery besides extending governance at the peoples doorsteps.

Meanwhile, DC announced that JK bank ATM shall be established at the said location for which he directed the concerned authorities to initiate the process for the same. He also urged upon the people to identify the land for the establishment of seasonal agricultural/horticultural store adding that various measures are being taken for the welfare of farmers.

Dr Itoo also distributed several income and domicile certificates among the identified students and termed it a step forward towards effective public service delivery system.

SDM Pattan Syed Faheem, ACD Baramulla, CEO, CAO,CHO,CAHO,Tehsildar Pattan sheikh salah-u-din,BDO Pattan Iram Aziz, district and sectoral officers among other concerned functionaries were present on the occasion.(KNS)
