Jahama- Qalamabad road in dilapidated condition; authorities unmoved

Handwara, Sep 27 (KNS): The roads that connects several villages of Mawer to its Tehsil Headquarter Qalamabad in north Kashmir’s Handwara is in dilapidated   condition and the concern department is watching as mute spectator.

According to Kashmir News Service, Qalamabad-Jahama road is taking its last breathe as it hasn’t not been macadamized by the authorities since long resulting the inconvenience to the locals residents.

The resident of the area said that most of the times the drivers are denying to ply over this road and are saying their vehicles are getting damaged due to bad condition of road.

They said the looks like a river and there is  no drainage system on the road resulting the shopkeepers and pedestrian are facing problem.

They  also said that the school going Children and other employees of the are facing tough times to reach their destination on time due to bad road.

Traders federation president Farooq Ahmad Ganie told KNS “ I have informed the concern officials several times to macadamize the road every time I was assured but till know no measures has been taken up to end the hardships of the people.

The locals resident and trade body Qalamabad had deputy commissioner Kupwara for intervention (KNS)
