International Yoga Day Observed In South Kashmir

Pulwama, 21 June (KNS): 06th International Yoga was observed on Sunday in Verinag area of Anantnag and Pulwama district of Southern Kashmir, officials said

They said that the main functions were held at Govt Higher Secondary School in Verinag Anantnag & Sports Ground in Pulwama, which were organised by Physical Education Officer Verinag & District Youth Services & Sports Pulwama respectively.

In the function at Verinag Anantnag, number of students, teachers, National Youth Corps (NYC) and members from civil society participated.

Similarly in Pulwama district, "Students from different educational institutions participated, who received orientation practice about Yoga training & its advantages in maintaining good health."

Speaking on the occasion, officials of Youth services & sports in Pulwama highlighted the benefits of performing Yoga.

They asked the participants to perform different physical exercises for growth and development of their mind & body.

Apart from these functions, the physical education department in collaboration with the NSS units of GDC Tral, concluded week long activities, organised to commemorate World Yoga Day 2020.

As per the official, the college under the auspices of Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Bashir Ahmad Mir, organised various programmes to spread awareness regarding benefits of Yoga (KNS)
