India's reiteration that its position on key issues 'remains unchanged' is reassuring: Chrungoo

Jammu 06 March (KNS): "The reieteration by the government of India's representative that its position on key international issues including relations with neighbourhood state, Pakistan, remains unchanged, is both reassuring and in tune with the established doctrine that terror and talks won't go together", said Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, senior BJP and Kashmiri Pandit leader and Incharge: Deptt of Political Affairs and Feedback, J&K-BJP.

As per the statement issued to news agency-kashmir news service(KNS), He was addressing a global seminar on the topic "India's commitment on global issues of relations with other states" today. While referring to India's stand in the UNHRC recently to the effect that Pakistan needed to put an end to its cross-border terrorism, Chrungoo maintained that it reflects India's desire to normalise relations with all members of its neighbourhood. The statement needs to be seen in terms of the truce agreement between the two DGMOs of India & Pakistan recently.

It is also important for Pakistan to renunciate using the platform of OIC to further its designs against India. Using its Right of Reply in the 46th Session of the Human Rights Council in response to a statement by Pakistan’s representative, India rightly lambasted Pakistan for deliberately misusing the forum for its malicious propaganda against its neighbour, India.

The Indian representative rightly castigated Pakistan in the session by saying that, 'Pakistan, a country in dire economic situation, will be well advised to stop wasting time of the Council and its mechanisms, stop state-sponsored cross-border terrorism and end institutionalised violation of human rights of its minority and other (discriminated) communities'.

Chrungoo in his presentation said, "The off-repeated position that OIC has no locus standi to comment on matters related to Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral and inalienable part of India is a fact of intense ground level that no power on earth can change"...."the only issue that requires resettlement is the liberation of POJK as per the Parliamentary resolution of 1994"

Chrungoo further added that the permanent resettlement of the indigenous people of Kashmir, the displaced Kashmiri Pandits,  is the other dimension of the Kashmir imbroglio that requires immediate attention internally. Since their resettlement is a core political issue, the so-called rehabilitation under the PM's Employment package is merely an economic day to day subsistence and economic survival issue and has no connection,  whatsoever, with the permanent resettlement of the ethnically-cleansed community of Kashmiri Pandits. Their geo-political aspirations go through three important preludes such as, Delimitation, a machanism created by law to protect and preserve temples and shrines of Kashmir, and establishment of a Special Crimes Tribunal-Court to go into the crimes against humanity committed against them which National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) termed as acts akin to genocide.(KNS)
