‘Govt does not believe in political vendetta’

KU to fill up vacant faculty posts soon: Prof Talat

Srinagar, Sept 25 (KNS): Vice-Chancellor Kashmir University Prof Talat Ahmad Sunday said that all vacancies of lecturers in the Varsity would be filled up soon and latest job oriented courses would be introduced in KU.
In an exclusive interview with KNS, Prof Talat said, “During its recent visit the NAAC team raised the issue of vacant faculty positions in the KU with us. There are almost one third teaching posts lying vacant in the KU. Soon we are going to advertise the posts and fill up these within shortest possible time.”

Rahul Gandhi rejects Geelani’s allegations
Srinagar, Sept. 25 (KNS): All India Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has rejected Syed Ali Shah Geelani’;s allegations regarding membership drive in Kashmir university. Talking on phone from New Delhi, Ghandi’s secretary Meenakshi Natrajan told KNS that Rahul has no intentions of launching membership drive in the campus. Govt warns teachers to desist from constructing school buildings
No ‘bogus’ degree holder will be selected for teacher posts: Pirzada 
Srinagar, Sept 11 (KNS): Warning the teachers to desist from constructing school buildings themselves, state government has decided to terminate services of those teachers and heads of schools who fail to improve the results in board exams.Sources told KNS that the government has taken serious note of reports that some teachers, zonal education officers and other officials of the department were involved in construction of school buildings themselves to make money.
They said the services of the teachers in whose schools there will be zero percent result for three consecutive years will be terminated. Read more...

Accept Kashmir as dispute, we will talk: Salah-ud-Din
Rejects any possibility of unilateral ceasefire during Ramdhan
Srinagar, July 31 (KNS): Stating that they were ready for dialogue if India accepts Kashmir as a dispute, United Jihad Council chairman and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen supermo, Syed Salah-ud-Din, Sunday said that gun was not in favor of Kashmiris.
“Whether bullet is fired by mujahideen or Indian troops, it is Kashmiri who is getting killed. I will be the happiest person if Kashmir dispute can be solved peacefully,” Salah-ud-Din told KNS in a telephonic interview.
Asked what the conditions of the UJC for dialogue were, he said, “Revocation of draconian laws like AFSPA and PSA, release of all political prisoners, withdrawal of troops from villages and towns and India’s acceptance that Kashmir is a dispute can become basis for any dialogue process.”
