Inclement weather disrupts electricity in Karnah

Karnah, 27 February (KNS): The inclement weather has disrupted electricity supply in remote border village of Karnah in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district 

Locals told KNS that from the last two days the area is in dark due to a fault in the 33KV HT line from Kupwara to Tanghar. 

“The transmission lines passes through hilly area along with the mountain range of Shamsbari that leads to frequent disruptions of the electricity supply of the area,” they said.

Meanwhile, Assistant executive engineer, PDD Karnah, Mohammed Ashraf Awan said that their men are on work and they trying hard to restore electricity in the area. “Hopefully electricity will be restored by evening.”  

He added their their man power is very low and are not able to coup up with the whole area of Karnah. 

Meanwhile, inhabitants of Tethwal Block said that a 2KV project has been set up in Pingla Haridal that supplies electricity to the whole Block, however, it needs to be modified as their machines are old and not working upto the mark. 

They said that no proper schedule has been set up by the department and power cuts are very frequent. (KNS)
