Over 700 families provided with ration kits

Rajouri, April 13 (KNS):At a time when entire world is grappling with COVID19 pandemic and lockdown is taking a toll on daily bread owners- three journalists from Rajouri took it upon themselves to provide dietary supplements to 700 families so far.


All the three journalists namely Tazeem Dar, Arif Qureshi and Umer Arshad Malik belong to Rajouri district and represent different media houses.


Trio joined hands soon after lockdown was ordered and started to provide essentials to the needy families of the district.

The kits prepared by them for distribution in needy families comprise of rice, wheat flour and other eatbles of dry ration nature.

" Their efforts are praise worthy. They are showing us a way." Gagan Kohli, another journalist said.

" I received over twenty kits from them and further distributed the same in needy people of Jawahar Nagar area." he said.

Guftar Ahmed Chowdhary, a youth activist from Rajouri's Kotranka area also termed the efforts of three journalists as commendable.

" More than fifty kits were received in Kotranka on Friday and were further distributed in poor families." said Guftar who added that Tazeem Dar, Arif Qureshi and Umar Arshad Malik provided these kits.

" Their efforts cannot be hailed in words. They are showing us a way." Mohd Sadiq, a resident of Thandikassi said.

He added, "Our legislators, former legislators, political leaders, all are missing in this tough time and no one came for any sort of help to anyone. But these three person are setting an example." 

" We were running short of ration. Matter was taken up with them and they reached at our doorstep on Sunday and delivered two kits." Mohammad Hafeez, head of a poor family from Rajouri town said.

People of  Badakanna, Bhattian,Rajdhani ShahdraSharief and other areas have hailed the efforts of trio Journalists.

Other noted social leaders including President Uleema Ahl e Sunat Moulana Mohd Farooq Naimi, President Tehreeq Ulema Moulana Hanief Raza, Sarpanch Danna Liaqat Ali, Sarpanch Manjakote Samreen Khan, Sarpanch Dodassan Bala Adv Zaheer Chowdhary, Sarpanch Khablan Ali Chowdhary, Naib Sarpanch Manyal Zubair Shah, Sarpanch Darhal Adv Bilal Mir, Prominent social a tivist Azmatabad Rashid Khan have all praise for them and said that we have received kits from them for deserving families of our areas.

Tazeem Dar, who alongwith Arif Qureshi and Umar Arshad Malik is making efforts to help needy families termed it as a social and moral responsibility of all.

" Basic teaching of every religion is to help poor. We are just doing the same and nothing else." said Tazeem.


" We will be fortunate enough if a poor family feel comfortable due to us." he added.

Dar and others appealed other people to help needy families in whatever kind they can.(KNS)
