Shopian August 10:(KNS) The district Administration Shopian today finalised the arrangements for smooth celebration of Independence Day 2020.

The meeting conducted under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Dr. Sheikh Abdul Aziz was informed that the main function will be held at district police lines Shopian.

It was also given out that contingents of CRPF, J&K Police, Home Guard, Fire and emergency services, Forest Protection, Youth Services and sports and school children will participate in the march past and parade.

The meeting was also informed that a full dress rehearsal will be held on 13th August 2020. Meanwhile employees who have done exemplary work especially during COVID-19 pandemic period will be awarded certificates and prizes.

ADC directed the officers to ensure adequate security arrangements, parking facilities, proper seating arrangements at the venue besides ensuring uninterrupted water and power supply.

He also directed the health department to ensure adequate medicare facilities at the venue besides the CMO was also directed to arrange a sufficient number of masks, sanitizers at the venue keeping in view the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The ADC directed the officers of Municipal committee to maintain cleanliness in and outside the venue, roads, streets and further called for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the said function.

Among others the meeting was attended by district and sectoral officers besides representatives of security agencies.(KNS)
