Bandipora, September 24:(KNS) Hassan Khuehami Memorial Government Degree College Patushay Bandipora Thursday organized Annual Road Race which started from Aloosa and culminated at Patushay.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir received the participants of the race at Patushay and gave away the awards among the winners and appreciation certificates among the participants.

Farooq Ahmad Lone, a 6th semester student from Athwatoo bagged the first position while Zubair Shafi Khan of 3rd semester bagged the second position. Aehsan Sultan bagged the third position.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC congratulated the students for taking part in the race and urged the college authority to continue sports activities while taking all the precautions amid COVID-19 pandemic. He stressed on the students to take activity part in sports activities to remain physically and mentally fit. He assured full support to the college from district administration in developing the sports infrastructure in the college and said that the administration will provide every possible support in organizing sports activities in the college.

Earlier the road race was flagged off by Principal of the college Dr. MA Malik and about 50 students participated in the race that started at 7am. Malik said that such events are essential for boosting the morale of students. He said covid 19 pandemic has disturbed everything including academics and we have to take these challenges and pass on the message that life has to go on. He said we have learn to live with covid 19 by following SOPs and moving on.

He said college is going to start some indoor and outdoor activities to enhance the talent of the students and urged students to actively participate in such events. Prof Naseer Ahmad Khan, Prof Mohammad Ashraf and Prof Gh Hassan also spoke on the occasion(KNS)
