CMO orders enquiry, report to come in two days

Handwara, June 02, (KNS): Healthcare services in Block Handwara of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district have been badly hit due to amorphous and immoral approach of newly appointed BMO who often used abusive language and behave arrogantly with healthcare staff, alleged concern staff of the block.

They urged authorities to take action against the ‘arrogant’ officials for smooth functioning of healthcare services in the block.

Meanwhile CMO Kupwara have constituted a two-member team for conducting the enquiry of allegations leveled by health staff and directed the team to submit report within two-days for further proceedings.

Reports reached to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that doctors and other paramedics of Block Handwara have recently shot a complaint letter to Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Anshul Garg for addressing their issue which has hampered healthcare facilities in the concerned block.

“Since the joining of new Block Medical Officer (BMO) in Block Handwara, the smooth functioning of healthcare services have been badly hit due to amorphous and immoral approach of the said official towards the entire staff of the block”, employees of Medical Block Handwara stated in a letter.

“That the behavior of the BMO is highly irresponsible and disturbing in nature who often used abusive language and behave arrogantly”, letter reads.
It also said, “The female staff of the block is feeling insecure and vulnerable to pysicla and mental assault on routine basis”.

Health officers and officials also alleged that there are plethora of complaints against the said BMO from previous working places of same nature.


Meanwhile Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara after receiving written complaint against the official, has constituted two-member team for investigating the matter.

“Dr Manzoor Ahmad (Deputy CMO Kupwra) and Dr Davender Kour (DIO Kupwara) has been assigned task to probe the allegations leveled by doctors and other paramedics against BMO Handwara, and has been asked to submit their detailed report of enquiry within two days so that same is forwarded to higher ups for further proceedings”, CMOs order reads.

When KNS contacted Chief Medical Officer Kupwara Dr Kousar Jan, She said the enquiry team has been constituted and in two days they will submit report after which further action will b taken. (KNS)
