Handwara, June 11, (KNS):Handwara police on Thursday claimed to have busted a narco terror module and have arrested three Militant Associate

According police On a reliable information, Handwara Police busted a militant module and arrested three associates of LeT.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the apprehended militant associated have been identified as Abdul Moomin Peer son of Late Mohammad Ashraf Peer of Waskura Handwara, Islam Ul Haq Peer son of Mohammad Ashraf Peer residents of Waskura Handwara and Syed Iftikhar Indrabi son of Syed Ateequlla Indrabi of Laribal Rajwar Handwara.

"Incriminating materials, including cash of Rs.1.34 Crores and narcotic substance Heroine 21kg (worth 100 Crore Market value) and 01 cash counting machine were recovered from their possession", police spokesperson said.

He added the other absconded involved persons have been identified and efforts are being taken to arrest. "The module was in close connection with Pakistan based handlers and were involved in drug trade and assisting financially to active militants of proscribed terror outfit LeT. The recoveries also exposed the inter-connection between drug dealers and militants", police claimed.

It also said tht the module was working for LeT outfit to strengthen their activities in the valley and were misguiding and motivating the local youth of the Valley to join militant ranks.

"A Case under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Handwara and investigations taken up", Police said.

It further added, "A special investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to ascertain the details of accused's ties with militant outfits, radicals, smugglers and other anti-national elements". (KNS)
