Half Marathon Organised In Karnah

Karnah 06 March (KNS): In Indian Army initiative, a half marathon was conducted for youths in Tangdar, Karnah. The motto, "Run for Fun, Health and Youth". The ever enthusiastic, talented and energetic youths of Karnah participated in the event. 112 youths ran the marathon. The locals lined up all among the marathon route to cheer the participants. The marathon started from Army Goodwill School, Hajinar and ended at Khorpara.


According to KNS Correspondent, Parvaiz Ahmed from village Sadhpura won the marathon, runner up was Shakeel Ahmad from Jada and Fayaz Ahmad of village Jada achieved the third position. Seven participants upto 10th positions were also awarded. Cash prizes were awarded to the participants. The Prize were given by Commander Shakti Vijay Brigade and Sarpanches of the villages. Speaking on the occasion He expressed his views on the event and optimism on the benefits to youths through such events. He confirmed organizing of more such events in future also on regular basis.


The event is in addition to Karnah Premier League, a 20-20 cricket tournament which is ongoing month long event at Chamkote, in which 33 teams are participating.


Indian army has taken lot of initiatives for youth to motive and inspire them. A series of events had been also organised in the past and the Indian Amry have also confirmed that they are going to organise a series of event in future also.(KNS)
