Hakeem Yaseen demands financial package for coronavirus crisis hit horticulture , transport and media sectors


Jammu, Jun 5 (KNS) : Chairman Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF ) Hakeem Yaseen has demanded a comprehensive financial package for fruit growers , transporters and media fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir adding that these vital sectors of state's fragile economy have been hit hard due to worst ever Coronovirus cricis.
In a statement issued to KNS , Hakeem Yaseen , while demanding a comprehensive package for the fruit industry , transporters and media fraternity , has said that unprecedented cricis in the wake of Covid-19 have put all those people in dock who earn their livelihood in these sectors. He has urged Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir G.C. Murmu to immediately announce a suitable financial stimulus to help the fruit growers , transporters and Journalists to overcome hardships hovering over them and their families.
He said besides waiving off Kissan Credit card loans , the government should extend marketing facilities to the Cherry and Strawberry growers to save them from bankruptcy. He said fruit growers of the state have been continuously facing lockdown from 5th August last year till now due to which they could not sell their produce . " The conditions of transporters was more than miserable who like fruit growers have become the first causality of the pandemic.
Hakeem Yaseen said that in the face of Coronovirus threat , majority of the people are scared to buy news papers from the hawkers.
Hakeem Yaseen strongly advocated the demands of media associations regarding a full package for the Coronovirus hit media industry . According to Media associations " many small and medium Newspapers have already suspended publishing news papers and other newspapers are facing serious challenges and if they collapse, it is bound to affect the journalists too. Such a situation will have a ripple effect thus affecting large number of employees, their families as well as printing presses, distribution mechanism, newspaper vendors and delivery boys," (kns)
