LG's Rs 13500 cr economic revival package not commensurate to estimated Rs 40000 cr losses to trade & industry in J&K

 

Srinagar, September 20 (KNS) :- Chairman People's Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen has demanded an exclusive financial package for revival of ailing fruit industry in jammu and kashmir which provides livelihood to about 25 lakh souls associated with horticulture . He said Rs 13500 cr economic revival package announced by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha recently was not commensurate with the estimated Rs 40000cr losses suffered by the trade and industry in jammu and kashmir during last two years.

In a statement issued to KNS, Hakeem Yaseen , while demanding an integrated financial package for revival of ailing fruit industry in Jammu and kashmir, said that Rs 13500 cr economic revival package announced by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha recently was a welcome step but it is not commensurate with the estimated Rs 40000cr losses suffered by the trader and industry during last two years. He said ailing fruit industry needs an exclusive economic package as livelihood of about 25 lakh souls was dependent on horticulture and fruit business . He said farmers, fruit growers and fruit traders have suffered colossal losses due to abnormal situation in jammu and kashmir during last two years.
PDF Chairman has demanded to waive off Bank loans of farmer's availed under KCC scheme besides providing free chemical fertilizers and hybrid seeds to the affected farmers. He has also demanded to waive off water and Electricity fee of all consumers of jammu and kashmir Union TerritoryTerritory especially living in far flung rural areas. He has also demanded release of due dearness allowance instalments in favour of employees and Pensioners of jammu and kashmir. (KNS)
