Srinagar, July 11 (KNS): Noted writer and convener Northern Regional Board Sahitya Akademi New Delhi, Dr Aziz Hajini has paid glowing tributes to legendary kashmiri poet Fazil Kashmiri on his 16th death anniversary.
Highlighting the immense contribution of late poet towards kashmiri language and literature, Hajini has termed him as one among the most celebrated kashmiri poets.
"His poetry played a vital role in popularising kashmiri language as it had a connect with the rich traditional folk lyricism and popular idiom of kashmiri language' said Hajini while remembering the late poet.
He further said in his press statement that Fazil was strong follower of eastern traditions during post 1950 era when running away from these traditions had become a fashion among poets and writers of kashmiri language. "Best tribute to Fazil kashmiri is to work for preservation and promotion of kashmiri language and rich ethos attached to it" Hajini said in his statement. (KNS)
