Srinagar, June 21(KNS) An encounter has started between militants and government forces in Zadibal area of Srinagar.

According to the reports reaching KNS, a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Zadibal after receiving inputs about the presence of Militants.
IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar told KNS that hiding Militants didn't surrender even after appeal by parents.
"As the joint team was zeroing in the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the forces, triggering off an encounter," a police official told KNS.

This is the second encounter in Srinagar this year. In the earlier encounter in downtown area of Srinagar, top Hizb commander Junaid Sahrai among two militants was killed.
