Srinagar September 12:(KNS) Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Saturday flayed the authorities over remaining adamant in using Rapid Antigen Testing amid COVID 19 crises, asserting that while leading health experts and the country's medical council have cautioned against its use, those at the helm in the state are least moved.

Kadfeen said that there are disturbing reports coming in that those who have been testing negative through Rapid Antigen Testing have to go for the testing again as they may be carrying the deadly virus but haven’t been detected through the unreliable and untrustworthy method of COVID 19 screening.

The wakeup call from the country's leading health experts reveal that If you are one of those who showed Covid-19 symptoms, underwent a Rapid Antigen Test, and were relieved to test negative: this is a wake-up call for you. There’s every chance that not only have you been infected by coronavirus, but you have also most likely spread the highly contagious disease to those you have come in contact with. “We have seen cases in which a person whose Rapid Antigen Testing report came back negative, only to have the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test confirms he was Covid-positive. The non-reliability of the RAT was affirmed by the new advisory released by the Union Health Ministry,” said Kadfeen, adding that Jammu and Kashmir like the rest of the country is sitting on a sleeping volcano that can erupt at any time and the situation may turn drastically apocalyptic in nature.

Kadfeen said it is high time that the government recognizes the threat and replaces the Rapid Antigen Testing with credible RT-PCR so that precious lives are saved without any further delay.(KNS)
