Govt’s power curtailment decision reflection of its utter failure on ground: Kadfeen

Srinagar, Oct 08 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Thursday slammed the government over its recent decision to go for major power curtailment during the coming winer months.
In a statement issued to KNS, Kadfeen said that announcement of the fresh curtailment schedule is enough to silence the uncalled for propaganda that BJP and its ilk unleashed after the abrogation of Article 370 that Kashmir valley will witness a new dawn of development and that the people reeling under distress will now heave a sigh of relief.
He said that the government’s first major litmus test was the supply of hassle free electricity during the harsh winter period and that it has failed miserably like never before in the same. Kadfeen said that as the winter is approaching, the government all of a sudden has decided to go for major power curtailment in Kashmir, citing overloading of the system. “Why the government was sleeping till now. Why it didn’t augment the power supply as per the load. These actions of the present dispensation have proven beyond doubt that it is the most inefficient, shirker and lethargic administration that Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed,” said Kadfeen.
The Congress leader also urged the civil society to raise its voice against the government's latest decision to go for major load shedding in Kashmir amid the harsh winter period.
Kadfeen said that power supplies are required more than ever this year due to the COVID 19 outbreak and more and more people in need of the constant oxygen supply. “How could the oxygen supply work when there is no electricity in winters. This is akin to killing people under a well planned strategy,” Kadfeen said. (KNS)
