Reasi, August 16:(KNS) Appealing to the authorities to maintain peace and harmony at any cost, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP), senior leader and former minister, Aijaz Ahmed Khan has demanded exemplary punishment for those who have used derogatory remarks to incident communal tension.

“The accused should be punished and be given exemplary punishment so that no one dares to hurt sentiments of any community,” said the former minister.

Reacting sharply to the incident, the JKAP senior leader said that an example should be set as deterrence for others which is required to maintain peace and harmony in the society in which people from all faith live in peace.

“The administration and police must ensure that the accused persons must not go unpunished,” he demanded and also condemned the acts of assaulting a man in Arnas area.

He said that the law enforcement authorities should remain vigilant in such incidents before these things spread in society.

“The authorities should have acted timely,” said the JKAP leader expressing concern over the incidents followed by the incidents in Reasi.

The former minister was however confident that the police will not allow such anti-social elements to go unpunished,” said the JKAP leader.

He appealed to the people of both the communities to maintain peace and brotherhood and let the law take its course.(KNS)
