Srinagar, June 13, (KNS): Ghani Gliders Sports Club has urged government authorities to allow resumption of sports activities under proper guidelines.

It said Sports is an important activity and should not have been paused as the athlete's performance decreases due to inactivity.

In a statement issued to KNS, MD of the Club Tariq Rashid Ghani said, “Our sportspersons have proved their mettle at national and international level and the indoor sports stadium should be made free for them so that they can resume practice while also following proper guidelines.”

He said cricketers have been demanding turf wickets for many years and the government should immediately work on building turf wickets in all cricket fields.

“The football activity should also be resumed besides facilities should be created for other games like martial arts.”

He further said that due to inactivity, players not only have gone into depression but their performances can also hamper and will be difficult for them to be ready for any national, state or international competition (KNS)
