GDC Baramulla organizes workshop on ICT for enhanced teaching-learning


Baramulla September 14:(KNS) To augment and update the teaching-learning technological skills among the faculty, Govt Degree College Baramulla organized a workshop today as part of the UGC-TEP series of workshops.

Titled “ICT for enhanced teaching-learning,” the Resource Person of the workshop, Dr Shah Ubaid Ullah introduced the faculty to latest Apps of teaching, evaluation, feedback , Open Education Resources and reference library while providing hands-on training regarding the usage of these tools. Laying emphasis on the importance of these Apps and tools in the present day teaching-learning environment, Dr Ubaid Ullah said it is equally important to ethically and legally use these resources. He explained the use of Creative Commons License for the purpose.

Earlier inaugurating the workshop, Principal of the College Prof M M Rather underscored the need for teachers to acquaint themselves with the new technological advancement in the teaching-learning spheres. He assured the faculty of his support in their endeavours to update and acquire these vital skills.

Coordinator Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Prof A M Chalko presented overview of the initiatives taken by the IQAC for teacher enrichment and augmentation of the College resources for the purpose.

The session was conducted by Prof Arshad Ahmad Yatoo.

Dr Naushad Ahmad Wani, HoD Psychology proposed the vote of thanks.

The workshop was latest of the series of activities being conducted by the institution under Teacher Enrichment Programme, College with Potential for Excellence.

Meanwhile, the Admission Committee of the College distributed free masks among the students who had visited the campus today for submission of admission forms.The activity was supervised by Prof Rekhmat Shah and Prof Riyaz Ahmad Rather.

To review various new and undergoing projects at the Campus, the College also held meetings of various committees including Innovation & Incubation, Advisory and IQAC. The meetings were chaired by Principal and attended by concerned faculty members. Prof A M Chalkoo conducted the meetings.(KNS)
