Gayoor Foundation Executive council holds meeting

Srinagar, Nov 02 (KNS): Executive council Gayoor foundation met today & had a day long deliberations at Namblabal Pampore in Pulwama.The meeting was presided over by GF President Er Showkat Gayoor. Others among executive council who spoke were Sr vice president Syed G M Andrabi (Kreeri), General secretary Kaleem Bashir Ahmad, ex President Mir Ghulam Rasool Pampori, Ex general secretary Nazir Ahmad Ganaie, Abdur Rehman Fida, Ghulam Hussain Hussaini, Ghulam Hassan Kuchay, Shiekh Ali Muhammad, Yasar Muhammad Baba, Haji Abdul Ahad Thokar, Ghulam Muhammad Malik, Rasheed-u-Din Najar & Dr Perveez Ahmad. Progress since one year by the foundation was discussed thoroughly.
According to statement issued to KNS reads, all the council members thanked Prof Rehman Rahi, a Gian Peet awardee, for giving a title name "Sout-i-Kashmir" to Syed G R Gayoor which was unanimously approved by the galaxy of scholars, writers, poets, educationists, philosophers, lawyers & doctors who were present on the occasion of 15th death anniversary of Syed Ghulam Rasool Gayoor at Town Hall Pulwama on 22nd of October 2020.
The quorum also thanked Shakeel Azad, editor-in-chief weekly paper Shaherbeen for issuing a special Gayoor number comprising of 16 pages on the occasion. It was highly appreciated that M K Raina, editor-in-chief Pragash magzine published from Mombay had also issued a special Gayoor number comprising of 96 pages on the occasion. Both the senior journalists were appreciated for their sincerety & concern. We are also grateful to M K Raina for the nomination of GF general secretary Kaleem Bashir Ahmad as the coordinating associate of Pragash magzine for Kashmir division.
Subseqiently, Some important decisions were unanimously taken by the council which include that all the literature of Sout-i-Kashmir Syed G R Gayoor published till now will be available on Website which will be launched soon. Simultaneously, those writers & poets who cant publish their literature & are not known to people of Jammu & Kashmir will be encouraged. In this regard, a search committee came into existence for the purpose. Developmental issues & day to day problems faced by the common masses were taken on board which will be highlighted & taken on priority with the concerned administration. The meeting concluded just after vote of thanks by General secretary Kaleem Bashir Ahmad & presidential address by Er Showkat Gayoor. (KNS).
