Ganderbal April 17 (KNS): Ganderbal Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler in Kolpora safapora and have recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Statement issued to KNS reads, Continuing its drive against drug dealings in Ganderbal, Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established at Kolpora Safapora intercepted an Alto Car bearing Registration number JK02AC/2111 with one person on board identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Ganaie resident of Ranbir Garh Shalteng Srinagar.
During checking, officers were able to recover contraband substance from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station safapora where he remains in custody. Vehicle involved in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Case FIR No.18/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Safapoora and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.(KNS)
