Srinagar Jan 5:(KNS) Stating that life in entire Kashmir has become more difficult amid heavy snowfall, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir has reiterated that LG administration must take more effective measures to ensure essential facilities inorder to ensure respite to people.

 

G.A.Mir also sought adequate arrangements for the stranded people on National Highway, besides ensuring that they reach their destinations.

Expressing serious concern over the difficult situation confronting people in entire Kashmir and elsewhere in J&K amid heavy snowfall, JKPCC President G.A. Mir has reiterated that the LG administration must ensure basic necessities such as electricity, essentials, medical facilities besides road connectivity in upper reaches and interiors in entire Kashmir to ensure respite to people.

LG administration needs to take more effective measures to ensure that people do not face hardships, besides reaching out to upper reaches and interiors in snow bound South, North and Central Kashmir to ensure that people do not suffer on account of their basic needs. G.A. Mir said.

JKPCC President also urged the LG administration to evacuate/ensure safety of people living in avalanche prone areas in upper reaches in Kashmir, as there is every possibility of damages to life and property, which has to be avoided, at right earnest.

I would also emphasize the LG administration to ensure free food, accommodation and heating arrangements to stranded people on national highway till they are allowed to move towards their destinations by the concerned authorities, G.A. Mir added and laid emphasizes over keeping a close vigil on prices of essentials and other items required by the people to ensure that there is no over-charging, which has become a routine especially during winter months in J&K.(KNS)
