Srinagar, March 13:(KNS)  Eminent social activist and National TV debater Inam Un Nabi has urged honorable Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to correct the defective transfer system of Patwaris especially in the Srinagar District.

Inam observed :"  We are all for towards ensuring efficient governance and transparency in Jammu and Kashmir and in this regard  want to bring to your immediate and kind notice a burning issue of administration mostly hitting badly the interests of people of Srinagar , which is heart of Jammu and Kashmir.

Inam said the issue is of series of defects that have crept in the transfer policy of Patwaris in the District Srinagar . The current procedure of Transfer system is breeding ground for corruption as from six to seven years or more Patwaris are in same area and even if the transfer happens it is a make shift arrangement between two vested interested  buddies ."

 Inam observed the Patwaris who have gone back to their parent district their additional charge has been given to other Patwaris rather than giving charge of that area to seperate Patwari . This makes for masses the Patwari often inaccessible as he has got excuse of additional charge . It is also learnt that in other weird Development scores of Patwaris in Srinagar are not filling their annual progress report as they don't want to get promoted suggesting the deep rooted corruption . This facet is also hitting the honest lot. "

Inam  affirmed  that under  dynamic leadership of LG Manoj Sinha a  proactive and transparent transfer policy with reference to Patwaris is framed , wherein they are not kept stagnant at one place to help them milk people wrongly .

He remarked :" The heavy influence of land sharks , mafia and brokers on the revenue department and other departments is a menace that acts as seed for corruption and crimes . This menace needs to be not just weeded out but uprooted from base . The regular vibrant transfers of Patwaris in the Srinagar District and other districts of Jammu and Kashmir can go long way in ending the evils like these.

The several wrongs that have crept in the transfer  policy of Patwaris in the Srinagar District especially have been reported by sections of media as well."

Inam hoped that the dynamic leadership of DC Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary, known for his efficiency and vibrancy , solves the burning issues faced by the people of Srinagar in an apt manner.(KNS)
