Foundation World School Organizes Seminar on CCTTP in Humhama Campus

Srinagar, July 10 (KNS): Foundation World School (FWS) on Friday organized a seminar on Cambridge Certified Teacher Training program in its Humahama campus.

A statement issued to KNS said, Foundation world school has recently become the only certified cambridge teacher training centre with an aim to extend the benifit to a larger audience FWS aims to train 1000 teachers under Cambridge Certified Teaching Learning(CCTL) course over a period of three years.

"The school heads of various leading private schools also took part in the seminar. President PSAJK also attended the seminar. Director Academics Dr Mohammad Mukadam, Direcror Academics Foundation World School and also an approved Cambridge Programme Leader presented the benefits of CCTL", statement said.

The agenda of the seminar was to bring out some perspectives how to transform the way of teaching from traditional teacher-centric to research based student-centric teaching. “J&K figures at the lower end when it comes to education in India as well as the world. The main reason is the lack of opportunity and challenges a child faces here.

It added, "We believe every Kashmiri child can attain true success only if we bring about the positive change. We need to be more student-centric, to make them empowered in education, make their minds globally ready”, said Dr Mukadam.

He further stated that traditional way of teaching is only hindering a child to discover his/her true potential. World is changing so is the way of education. “we need to develop the holistic approach of education and learning where a child is truly motivated and moved to actually learn and not just forcefully or under peer pressure. in the changing circumstances the cirrent teaching pedagogy will not give the results that are needed until we make efforts and train our teachers.

It said, "We have already been training our teachers from few years , now we want to impart the same skill set into other teachers and this in-turn will inspire all. We are looking for teachers with passion and compassion and an undying hunger of learning as well as teaching.”

The presentation was later carried on by the teachers of FWS who were trained under CCTL to present a broader perspective of the course. They highlighted the core issues important to the new way of teaching.

Director Finance Mr Zahoor Ahmad Koul explained how schools can gradually train their teachers and help not only improve the classroom transaction in the school but also open new career opportunities for teachers here and abroad.

The teachers had an interactive session with all the dignitaries present there, to showcase what changes CCTL had brought in them, and how it will be helpful for the children to make them motivated, confident, critical thinkers, and improve their cognitive ability.
