Uri, Oct 20 (KNS): Football championship organised by Torna Battalion of Pir Panjal Brigade under aegis of Dagger Divsion in north Kashmir's Uri has witnessed large number of sports loving youth of adjoining areas.

"The ongoing Boniyar Football Championship has infused fresh energy into the local youth of Boniyar who are turning up in large numbers to support their football clubs", it said.

It added, "the locals of Boniyar and the border villages are excited about the ongoing sporting event since it is providing a platform to the youth of these far flung areas to show their talent and also keeping them engaged in fruitful endeavors".

Pertinently Army in parts of Kashmir have organised several football championships to persuade local boys towards sports activities. The aim of the effort is to provide suitable platform to new generation so that they shine in future ahead. (KNS)
