Field functionaries and Civil society in bordering villages of Pulwama put on Extra Vigil: District Authorities

Pulwama 26 April (KNS): Keeping in view the increase in number of COVID-19 cases in the neighbouring districts , District Magistrate Pulwama , Dr Raghav Langer convened an exclusive meeting of all stake holders and field staff of bordering villages neighbouring Anantnag, Shopian, Budgam and Srinagar District here today.

The meeting was attended by SP Pulwama, Tehsildars ,DySP Awantipora , BDO's , Patwaris , VLWs ,PRI members ,Local Resource Persons, Lumberdars, Chowkidaars and village heads .
Addressing the meeting, District Magistrate expressed concern over increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the neighbouring districts and said that field functionaries and civil society in these villages should be mobilised and put on extra guard for intercepting the movement of people from the red zone villages of adjoining districts. He added that the movement from bordering districts of Shopain, Anantnag, Srinagar and Budgam should be highly regulated to prevent the entry of any suspect from entering the district .
DM instructed that all entry and Exit points towards these districts shall completely sealed off and Public movement should be restricted so that the individuals coming from the affected areas can be restrained .
DM reiterated that major roads connecting these districts are on a strict guard however movement for medical emergency and essential services duty staff is being allowed appropriately.
Villages like Hall ,Trenz , Lassipora and Keller bordering Shopain , Tujan ,Kamraziapora,Chewa Kalan ,Gusoo and Sarai bordering Budgam ; N.B pora and Chersoo bordering Anantnag and Sempora , Pampore ,Kandizal and Kadalbal bordering Srinagar have been put on alert to restrict movement from these districts.
He added that said that strict vigil is being maintained on the public movement in the areas bordering Shopain and Budgam in which numerous villages Heerpora ,Beminpora, Meemendar ,Palpora ,Sindishirmal ,Kanipora ,Sedow and Kanidajan ,Palar ,Batpora Soibugh respectively have been declared as Red Zones.
Earlier, District Administration Pulwama declared seven villages including Khaigam, Sangerwani, Abhama of Tehsil Rajpora and Gudoora, Chandgam, Pinglena and Parigam of Tehsil Pulwama red zones after detecting 3 positive cases in the district who later on recovered and discharged from the hospital , but all those areas are still under strict restrictions till exact status shall be known and people have been continuously advised to abide by the orders and any violation shall invoke section 269 IPC ( unlawfully or negligently doing something which is likely to spread infection of any dangerous disease to life) , section 270 IPC ( malignant act likely to spread infection of dangerous disease to life), section 271 IPC (knowingly disobeying any quarantine rule) and section 188 IPC ( for disobeying the Government orders (KNS).
