Farooq Abdullah gets first shot of Covid-19 vaccine at SKIMS

Srinagar, Mar 02 (KNS): Member parliament and chairman Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Dr Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday got his first shot of Covid-19 Vaccine at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura in Srinagar. 

As per news agency KNS, Dr Farooq Abdullah, who has served as the chief minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir on several occasions, got his first dose of the vaccine today morning along with his wife.  

While confirming about Farooq Abdullah's first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, Omar Abdullah in a Tweet said, "Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at SKIMS, Srinagar. Today my 85 year old father & my mother had their first COVID jab. My father has a number of health issues including being on immunosuppressants for a kidney transplant. If he can get the vaccine, you should as well."

Earlier, on Monday, second phase of Covid-19 vaccination was started across the country for people above 60 years of age and above 45 years of age with underlying conditions. 

Pertinently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first person to take Covid-19 jab during the second phase of vaccination drive across the country on Monday. (KNS)
