Srinagar, September (25) : People's Alliance for Gupkar Decleration today gave a formal structure to the newly formed alliance of Political parties to fight for pre-August 5 status of Jammu and Kashmir.
Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah was elected as Chairman, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti as Vice Chairman, People's Conference Chief Sajad Gani Lone as Spokesperson and CPIM leader Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami as Coordinator.
According to a senior politician who was part of the Meeting, the members had a detailed discussion over the ways and means for taking the fight to the logical conclusion.
The Alliance also asked ANC Leader Muzafar Shah, NC MP Justice Hasnain Masoodi, CPIM leader Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami and Sajad Gani Lone for making a report to expose the "lies" paddled by the BJP about development and security in J&K as excuse for abrogation of Article 370 and the "developmental propaganda" launched by the GOI in J&K, he told KNS.
"The report will be released on 7th November when the party has scheduled the next meeting in Jammu," he said.
The leader also informed the KNS that the meeting decided to call for a convention of working committees of all parties on 17th of November.
The flag of the erstwhile state of Jammu And Kashmir was adopted as flag of alliance, he told KNS.
Meanwhile Omar Abdullah tweeted duirng the meeting, "The @JKNC_ President has started extensive consultations with colleagues from Jammu about the current political situation and aspirations & concerns of the people of Jammu. He has been taking inputs about widening the reach of the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration."(KNS)
