Langate, June 02 (KNS): In a bid to control prices of essential commodities and initiate action against those selling chicken and other commodities at exorbitant rates, authorities today imposed 1500 fine from Qalamabad market in Handwara.

According to Kashmir News Service Correspondent, after receiving complaints from locals that shopkeepers selling chicken and other essential commodities on high rates and looting them at will, a team led by Tehsildar Qalamabad Mohd Ramzan along with Naib Tehsildar farooq Ahmad, OP javid Ahmad Bhat, CADP officials & Qalamabad police today inspected the Qalamabad market and found the complaints correct.
The team imposed fine on the erring shopkeepers,
Tehsildar Qalamabad while talking to KNS said that inspection was done at Qalamabad Batagund, Haril, Monabal , Lawoosa & lach markets will continue and strict action will be initiated against the violators who take advantage of the prevailing situation he said (KNS).
