Srinagar, Feb 02 (KNS): Senior vice president Peoples Conference and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil on Wednesday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to end political uncertainty and call all-party meeting immediately on the prevailing situation in JK.
As per the statement issued to KNS, Vakil was addressing party workers on Tuesday in Hachaypora Rafiabad, while addressing the workers, he said that it is unfortunate that central government has failed to address the uncertainly and chaos, harassment among people of Jammu and Kashmir especially the people of valley and failed to reach out to common masses.
He said current political uncertainty, alienation among youth and increasing unemployment could explode in anger if the Prime Minister fails to initiate a political dialogue with mainstream parties in the region. PM should share his roadmap for development in Kashmir, rather than alienating people by different tactics.
“The vicious circle of political uncertainty must end. There is incompetent management in administration that has disturbed the people," Vakil added.
Vakil said the prevailing situation has further distanced the people from the mainstream and youth are at crossroads as unemployment is at all time high. The development is restricted only to papers only.
“Surprisingly on the one hand, the administration had claimed that they would end unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir but from the past 15 months they have failed to provide employment opportunities to educated people," he said.
"Not only this the in the age of digital media, but our youth have also been deprived of basic facilities. Even administration has failed to restore 4G internet services in the J&K snapped since August 05, 2019,” Vakil said.
“Even those youth who had set up their own employment units have been also left jobless due to the absence of high-speed internet service,” Vakil said.
The senior leader questioned PM Modi that what kind of message he was conveying to the world by depriving people of J&K of the high-speed internet.
Vakil said silencing people by using different tactics won't work for long and it is not an everlasting solution to any problem.
“There is a need for a concrete roadmap and silencing people forcibly is not the solution to any problem,” Vakil added.(KNS)
