Srinagar, Nov 01 (KNS): An encounter has broke out between Militants and government forces in Rangreth area of Srinagar outskirts.

Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service said that joint team of security forces including Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir police jointly launched the Cardon and Search operation in the area following the inputs of presence of militants.

An official said as the joint team of security forces surrounded the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated ensuing the gun battle in the area.

Senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of gunfire in the are and said the encounter is underway.
