Empty Chair of Asstt Dir Handicraft & Handloom Coorporation in Kupwara forces locals to suffer

Srinagar, July 06 (KNS): The vaccant chair of Assistant Director Handicraft & Handloom Corporation in north Kashmir's Kupwara district have left population to suffer since long.

Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that despite the merging of Handloom and Handicrafts departments, the sufferings of local population are yet to lessen. As or reports both departments are currently functioning separately which left people into crisis and confusion.

Reports also said that earlier two Additional Director's were present in Kupwara district when both the departments were functioning separately but after Additional Director Handicraft Dr Mudasir got promoted and another Additional Director Handloom Kashif Bhat was transferred, the grievances of people are gathering dust.

Reports said that since the transfer of officials, no alternate was deputed in the district. It added though later on AD Bandipora was given additional charges to Kupwara but he is never attending the office with the result the local population of the district are facing hurdles in sorting out their concerns.

Locals said those approached and applied for self-help groups in the district have been told to wait till officer occupies chair.

They appealed authorities to intervene and depute a competent official so that grievances of people to be addressed. (KNS)
