Empower people by restoring Statehood to J&K: Gh. Hassan Mir

Jammu, March 07:(KNS) Apni Party Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir today urged the Govt of India to empower the people of J&K with the restoration of Statehood.

Addressing a public gathering at Sohanjana, Jammu District, Gh. Hassan Mir said that “There is a feeling of disempowerment among the people of both the regions. The Govt should understand the simmering anger and restore the snatched honour to the people.”

Speaking at the largely attended public meeting which was organized by Kulwant Singh and Tajinder Singh, Mir said the Govt should hold early elections in J&K as the Lt Governor’ administration has failed on the ground to perform.

“The feeling of detachment among the people is growing. The elected Govt is always responsible to the people. The bureaucrats created difficulties with their attitudes and people have gone away from the Govt. The attempt of the Govt of India to win the confidence of people has failed to yield results because of officials,” he said.

Apni Party, General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra, speaking on the occasion, said that the inflation of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas has affected the general public.

“Govt should reduce taxes so that the prices of the petroleum and cooking gas come down and they become affordable for the common public. Amid the rise in price of essential commodities, the people are overburdened financially,” Malhotra said.

He said that the Govt should look into the issues of serious concern and take the necessary decisions in the interest of the public.

Criticizing the ruling BJP, Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh said that the new industrial policy which has been launched in J&K should have included the already existing sick units so that they can also get benefit of the schemes.

“There are reports of closing down of many industrial units in view of poor response from the Govt. The Govt. should ensure the sick units are given benefits of the newly launched industrial policy. Industrial sector should be given equal preference without ignoring the existing units,” said Manjit Singh.

He said that there should be 80% reservation for the locals in industrial units i.e., skilled and unskilled. “Locals are being ignored and we will not tolerate this,” he added.

Prominent among those who joined the Party included Balwant Singh, Makhan Lal, Pappu Verma, Surjeet, Madan Arora, Jai Singh, Lucky, Garu Ram, Parshotam Lal, Akshya, Rabanash Lal, Ramesh Chander, Rajesh Kumar, Makhan Lal, Geeta Devi, Rattan Lal, Madan Lal, Rinku, Ranjeet Singh Chib, and others.
