EJAC stands with JKCLUF in their genuine sit-down strike call


Srinagar, Aug 23 (KNS): As per Chief Spokesman of EJAC, Tariq Ahmad Sofi it has been highlighted that EJAC stands with J&K Casual Labourers United Front lead by Imran Parray in their genuine sit-down strike call. In a statement President EJAC Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam said that it is high time that the government initiates regularization for casual labourers, daily wagers and all type of temporary workers as they have been working tirelessly in various departments of J&K for more than 25 years on a meager salary with which they are not even able to make their two ends meet or pay school fees of their children.
In a statement issued to KNS, He said that casual labourers, daily wagers and all type of temporary workers work on the same parameters and capabilities as that of regular employees yet from time to time the government has ignored their genuine rights and demands. He further added that these labourers and workers are the frontline warriors in every calamity that has befallen over the people of J&K and to regularize them is not only the obligation of the government but also the genuine right of them.
Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam said that the government is still giving cold shoulder to the genuine rights and demands of casual labourers, daily wagers and all type of temporary workers which has compelled them to go out on strike and protest for their rights. He reiterated his demand of regularization for casual labourers, daily wagers and all type of temporary workers and said that EJAC stands shoulder to shoulder with them in this struggle.
Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam urged the government to shed off its step motherly approach towards these labourers and workers and view them through the prism of humanity so that much needed justice can be delivered to them. He also pointed out that their issue needs to be resolved once for all so that there will be a good work culture in the departments of JK. He also appealed the government to take them into consideration and must initiate the talks with the concerned associations for the rehabilitation of casual labourers, daily wagers and all type of temporary workers so that there will be no need of the strikes or protests.
