Baramulla, June 20(KNS): With an aim to acquaint and impart the Block Development Council Chairmen (BDCs) with the requisite training and other necessary technical know how regarding the effective implementation of various government schemes at the ground level, District administration Baramulla today conducted a day long training programme in which all BDCs and other concerned participated.

Training program was organized under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo while as ACD, BDOs and other functionaries of Rural Development Department were present in the program.

On the occasion, the participants were familiarized about various techniques and measures with regard to the productive and constructive implementation of various welfare and developmental programmes and schemes at the ground level. They were also educated about their role and responsibalties especially during the present circumstances arised due to COVID-19 outbreak.

Speaking on the occasion, DC emphasized upon the participants to play a proactive role towards rural development. He highlighted the role that can be played by PRIs in the socio-economic development of the society. He also stressed upon them to work in coordination and said that participation of different stakeholders in regional planning can yeild better and desired results.

Meanwhile, DC exhorted upon the BDCs to identify their role in management of COVID-19 crisis and said that they can play vital role in implementation of related guidelines and SOPs issued to control the spread of Coronavirus. Dr Itoo also hailed their participation in the training programme.(KNS)
