Drug peddler arrested in Khrew Awantipora, Vehicle seized : Police

Srinagar, Sep 01 (KNS): Awantipora Police on Tuesday said to have arrested a drug peddler during vehicular checking in village Sharshali Khrew, in south Kashmir’s Awantipora.
According to police statement issued to KNS reads khreew police intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK03B-3507 and during search of the said vehicle poppy straw(fukki) weighing about 35 kgs was recovered from the car which was concealed in gunny bags inside the car.
It further reads, the person who was carrying/ transporting the said consignment and driving the car has been arrested and identified as Tawfeem Ahmad Dar resident of Waghama Bijbehara.
The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Case FIR No. 48/2020 under relevant sections of NDPS has been registered in Police Station Khrew.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.
