Handwara, April 16 (KNS): Handwara police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a notorious drug peddlers in Magam area of Handwara and recovered 1 kg 50 grams charas from his possession.

A statement issued to KNS reads in its continuous offensive against menace of drug abuse under the command of SP Handwara Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS, Handwara Police continues it’s war against drugs.

Based on reliable information a naka was laid at Main Choke, Magam in the jurisdiction of Police Post Magam. During checking / search of a vehicle bearing registration No.JK09B- 3623 one person namely Amjad Ahmad Badana Resident of Hafrada Villgam was apprehended and during his personal search 1 Kg 50 gram Charas was recovered from his possession the statement said.
In this connection case FIR No. 123/2020 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered against him in PS Handwaraand investigation taken up.(KNS)
