Shopian, June 01 (KNS): District Administration Shopian in collaboration with District Health Services Shopian organised a drive through covid-19 sampling for journalists working in district shopian, here at Government Girls Higher Secondery School Shopian Better arrangements were put in place for collecting the samples. Medical and Paramedical staff who collected samples from Journalists wére fully equipped.

Deputy Comissioner Shopian Choudhary Mohammad Yasin, said that the initiative has been taken for the safety of the journalists who are working on frontline in this pandemic, by creating awarness among the people through print and electronic media ,as reporting on Covid 19 is challenging and unprecedented. Journalists and media person are required to leave their home to report in difficult circumstances. The journalists, who may be more vulnerable to contracting Covid19 are advised to implement a set of safety guidelines issued by WHO. He also said that we hope that the journalists will work with zeal and dedication so that the masses will get better awareness about the do's and dont's of the pandemic so that the risk of deadly infection will be mitigated.

Some Samples of pregnant ladies and Shopkeepers have also been collected for the COVID 19 in the said Organised camp by District Administration in collaboration with Health Services Shopian .

On the occasion, journalists and other media persons thanked the district administration for organizing the safety measures for journalists and assured that they will work shoulder to shoulder with the Administration.(KNS)
