Srinagar, 22 August (KNS) Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party President on Saturday held a third and conclusive round of meeting with another batch of seven party colleagues, who were under detention/house arrest since August 05 last year here at his Gupkar residence in Srinagar.
The leaders who met party president included Dr Bashir Veeri, Irfan Shah, Aga Syed Mahmood, Muhammad Khalil Bandh, Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, Hilal Lone, and Saif Ud Din Bhat. Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Party Treasurer Shammi Oberio, Political advisor to Party president Dr Farooq Abdullah Mushtaq Guroo were also present on the occasion.
Third in the series of meetings called by the party president following his cognizance of the stand taken by the government in honorable high court in the Habeas corpus mattes filled by the president and the vice president of the party for securing the liberty of various leaders of the party who have been under illegal detention since August last year. Being heedful of the prevailing circumstances, the party president had chosen to call all the incarcerated leaders in batches to meet him at his residence. (KNS)
